Don't forget Jason using the Red Dragon Thunderzord, using the Thunder Assault Team, to home in on Serpenterra via the 'head'. Flying near that, possibly to slow down Zedd, or board it to stop him and Goldar altogether, it helps to presume the cockpit is in the head.

In fairness, sets change. Look the command centre in Turbo. It's either the same one from Zeo, or the one from MMPR, but whatever it is, it doesn't look like either of them.

It does?

It's been a while since I've watched Turbo.

In the movie, the cockpit is in the head (Red Lightning). In the series, it's in Mountain Blaster.

There are a few differences between the movie and the episodes though, despite the movie being canon. For example, when they morph in the series it's just an energy beam, but in the movie it's this cinematic epic flash.

But still, that could probably be explained with an awesome fanwank theory.

The movie is canon though, so two cockpits... that's mighty strange. Wonder why? One for emergencies? Then why don't other Megazords have it? Maybe they do but we never saw them?

[Insert buzzer sound] Wrong!

"Shift Into Turbo". That long sequence involving the Turbo zords and Elgar's fleet of ships. Mountain Blaster and Wind Chaser alone combine at first and the Blue and Pink Rangers are in the cockpit at that point.

Obviously the real life explanation is that the movie producers did not take into account that the cockpit was in Mountain Blaster in Carranger.

We also have the issue of the cockpits of each zord being different as well.

The best explanation (in show, of course) is that sometime between the events of T:aPRM and Shift into Turbo is that the zords were upgraded. When originally created in the movie, they were fresh off the Zord Foundry floor and could have had a few bugs. So when they make it back to the Power Chamber, they 'completed' the zords and further developed the Turbo arsenal. The seats for the zords are now the Turbo Karts, for example. Thus we also have an explanation to Kat's line about the megazord sequence being more difficult.
