It would have been too soon after the evil Green Ranger stuff. Gold Ranger was more of an mysterious character at first.

They could introduce an evil Gold Ranger someday but there needs to be a good reason for it. Not just because they think it would be cool. Tommy and Trent both had reasons to be made evil. Eric had reasons to be an antagonist.

It is funny that this thread was bumped from so long ago when there is a Gold Ranger in Ninja Steel. Who certainly isn't evil though.

Zeo Gold as evil would have been a copycat of Green way too soon.

He would have been a much different character. Perhaps Tommy's brother would have been Gold. Mondo could have brainwashed him or something.

I don't see them wanting to go the route of an evil Gold. It was better that they let Gold Ranger do its own thing. The mystery of Gold Ranger and eventual transfer to Jason was well done. I don't want it to be any different.

It didn't happen in Infants so it shouldn't have even been considered. Gold should have been an ancient Young Prince.
