Ivan Ooze is a Zandozan from Planet ZX12-1000.

Serious answer that's a good one either he's some alien made of slime, used to be human but became so full of dark magic that he became slime, or maybe he's some cosmic abomination made up of negative thoughts, and feelings that got together, and were so concentrated that they somehow became a living thing.

In the movie, probably. I would say he is a different race than Ivan. Morphilogical beings probably refer to a bunch of ancient peoples.
