Default Lowemon: Switching sides done right?

Looking back through season 4, there is one thing even Frontier haters can't deny. When Duskmon entered the picture, he was certainly an improvement over the eccentric group of evil Legendary Warriors we'd already been exposed to. But when Koichi rebuked Cherubimon's influence and converted his spirits of Darkness, Lowemon turned out to be even cooler.

In Digimon seasons that had come before, you had Ken, who fans loved far more as the Digimon Emperor, or Beelzemon, who people only tolerated as a good guy because of Blast Mode. But Lowemon seemed to have more edge when compared to Duskmon's standardized horror movie demeanor. And there's no arguing Lowemon's human and beast spirits had a much better design and much better attacks.

Why do you think it is more evil-gone-good can't follow this pattern?
