Power Rangers Movie Reboot connected to tv series?

Maybe it's an AU movie with the story elements from the main cannon of the TV series. Zordon was already gone by the time Lost Galaxy started (and from LG onwards) so him being alive during the timeframe of those seasons wouldn't make any sense. So I think it's pretty much safe to assume that they're doing an AU story where the events in "Countdown to Destruction" played out differently. Meaning that the events from after the end of PRiS were somehow affected.
