Well the thing is Power Rangers had little choice to have a magic theme. The Super Sentai theme of 2005 was magic, so they had to go a long with it. They really have no control over what theme they used. They have improvised in the past but that really hasn't been the case since LG. , NS and DT improvised but still kept the same themes.
