Titanus didn't know the Rangers yet. Tommy and Jason had to prove they were worthy of the lasers. Plus Zordon knew winning Titanus' trust would guve them a much needed ally. He had to know Lokar was.coming.

Zordon was kind of a dick at times. He was always trying to manipulate things to fit his plans. But I guess it led to the forces of good winning in the end.

a lot of people in power can seem dickish but it's up to them to decide the best way to teach the people under them. Zordon's methods obviously worked since his Rangers always ended up winning in the end until the battle became too much with Dark Specter's invasion.

Titanus I'm sure was aware of who the Rangers were... it wasn't a test to gain its trust it was a test of teamwork and Zordon felt sending them there would get them to learn to work together like a team should.

He could of picked a better time to learn team work. Maybe send them on a mission when they aren't under attack Rita's forces?

perhaps he could have but they weren't having issues getting along and working together until that point in time so he had to do something drastic. It was a tough situation since their teamwork issues were corresponding with Rita's attack with her Super Putties.

When Lord Zedd shows up in "The Mutiny" his putties are said to be stronger and harder to defeat, yet all they have to do is hit the 'Z' on their chests? How hard could it possibly be to hit something right on the middle of their chest? It just seems to me that Zedd's putties would be easier to defeat than Rita's putties since they had no way of telling when they would defeat those putties.

Zedd's putties had to be stronger. Otherwise the Rangers wouldn't have had such a hard time with them at first. The Super Putties were just a one time thing. We don't even know if Rita could have made more.
